Part 1

Leadership and Management Literature Review and selected Research Topic (1500 words)

For this task, students are required to research one quality area of the National Quality Standard. These are:

Quality Area One– Educational program and practice

Quality Area Two– Childrenʼs health and safety

Quality Are Three– Physical Environment

Quality Area Four– Staffing Arrangements

Quality Area Five– Relationships with children

Quality Area Six–Collaborative partnerships with families and communities

Quality Area Seven – Governance and Leadership

Important Instructions:

1. Source a minimum of four current research articles on your selected topic.
2. Undertake a literature review that analyses and critiques your articles in relation to your selected quality area. You should consider a range of authors with varying perspectives to demonstrate broad literature engagement.
3. Identify gaps within the literature and provide recommendations to support continuous improvement strategies in your identified quality area.

Part2

Leadership and Management Research Presentation (1000 words) Presentation (tenminutes)

1. For this task, students are to form groups of 2-3 students, grouped according to the selected quality area of the National Quality Area from Part 1. Each group will be required to undertake research into the elements that are assessed in the selected quality area according to the ACECQA Assessment and Rating process. As a group you will present to the class an overview of the quality area, an example of what this would look like in practice and some examples of the types of issues that may need to be addressed in order for the standards to be met and exceeded in that quality area. State the title of your quality area.

1. State your introduction with rationale for your selection, context, and underpinning literature, frameworks, and documents.
2. Summary of your literature review
3. Your findings on how the standards for your selected quality area are met and exceeded with examples of practice and issues that may need to be addressed to receive an exceeding rating or standard of excellence.
